Tuesday Youday: Jason Cornell
Talk about creative leadership – this is a perfect example of a peaceful way to “attack” your enemy. I’ve experienced the protestors from Westboro Baptist Church firsthand, at the 2001 Churchwide Assembly in Indianapolis, and it’s not a pretty sight. There were little kids on the side of the street screaming “God hates fags!” over and over again. It was a complete turn off to me, and had I not known who Christ really was myself, I would not have ever given a second thought to Christianity. No matter how you feel about homosexuality, I think it’s hard to see how the words “God” and “hates” can be used in the same sentence. The God I know hates no one. Instead, God responds out of amazing acts of love.
This student used his creativity to love his neighbor and challenge their actions all at the same time. Brilliant! Job well done, Jason!
