Free to Be Me [Music Monday]

I can’t remember when I first heard this song, but I do remember the thoughts that it first sparked. I immediately thought about late night conversations I had had with high school girls about how hard it is to just be “me.” It’s hard to find a place where we feel comfortable really being true to ourselves.

As I got in the car to run some errands this weekend, I heard this song again. And once again, I thought of those girls. I thought about how dear they are to me and how precious they are. I said a short prayer for them, asking God to give them strength to be the women he has created them to be.

I’ll be using this song as inspiration for a project a little later today, so I thought it was only appropriate to share it with you this Monday morning. It’s always a good reminder that because of God’s grace, we are free to be “me.”
