What Is: Christian Community?

I’ve been wrestling with this question for a couple of years now. Back in June of 2009, I shared these thoughts about Christian community. Then last August, I tackled the question in a different way. And just last month I brought it up once again.

I know I’m not alone in my search for community. I hear it from others. The topic of “community” brings new readers to Soul Munchies over and over again. This is, by far, a universal struggle. After all, we are made to live in community. We are created to be in relationships with one another.

But just what in the world does that mean?

Next week, I’ll start a series that will look at what I think are some of the key aspects of community. Right now, this is what the topics will look like:

  1. Introduction to Christian community
  2. Intentionality
  3. Authenticity
  4. Vulnerability
  5. Honesty
  6. Accountability
  7. Maybe others …

I’d love for you to add to this list. How does Christian community differ from regular community? Or does it?

Are there other things that you think are key aspects of community? Anything you’d like to see me tackle?
