
I first became aware of the Charter for Compassion, because of Cathleen Falsani’s recent blog post. You can read the charter here, or you can hear it in the following video:
I think this is brilliant. Not only is it brilliant, it’s necessary if we are to be true followers of Christ. Christ was, above all else, compassionate. Sure, he called people out, but it was always because of their lack of compassion. Jesus tells us in Matthew 25:35-40 that when we are compassionate to those around us we are compassionate to him. To follow Jesus means to be compassionate. It’s a no brainer.
So, will you affirm the Charter for Compassion? Once you’ve affirmed it, how will your life be different?
