Some time ago I featured Heatherlyn during a Music Monday post. She and her husband Jason may be one of my greatest inspirations for living simply and for following my wildest dreams. They “get it” – that life is not about what you own or where you go, but instead life is about being the hands and feet of Christ – no matter where you go. That it’s the relationships in our lives that matter more than the stuff we acquire.
Heatherlyn’s first album is incredible. It’s a mix of love songs, songs calling for justice, and songs for building the Kingdom. You can hear most of it at her homepage. She’s not only a terrific musician, she’s a terrific friend. She and I have shared stories, hopes, frustrations, and prayers with one another despite the fact that we live many miles away from each other. She has inspired me – and continues to inspire me – with her humility and her genuine love for all people. And she is an incredible worship leader and thought provoker.
This week, she’s trying to raise $14,500 to fund her new album. Right now, they have received $6,223 in pledges – but they only have SIX days to raise the rest of the money. I share this with you because I believe in Heatherlyn’s music. I have found no other artist that is as genuine and humble and true to the Gospel as she is. Here’s a little bit of her personal story:
Last year, Jason and I resigned our “9 to 5″ jobs so that we could be available to travel, taking the music and it’s message around the country. Along the way, here and there, many have asked something like: “When is the next album coming out?” and “Is that song Rosebud or Put on Your Climbing Shoes – are they on the album you have available?” They aren’t available to take home right now and we think it’s about time to make that happen! Other songs included in the line up for this project are Be the Love, Peace on Earth, Wayfaring Stranger, When I Dream, and more.
I invite you to consider sharing this journey with Heatherlyn and her many supporters (like me and D!) Check her out at her homepage and then check out her new album journey here. And please consider helping her in this new, very exciting, project.

Thank you for introducing me to a new passionate heart. I will head over and have a listen. It takes much courage and faith to do what your friend and her husband did. Very inspiring.
Thanks for stopping by! You are so right that it takes a lot of faith and courage – when they first told me that she and Jason were focusing on music full time, I immediately thought “how in the world are they going to pay their bills with no full time job?” They have continued to amaze, and inspire me along their journey. I know she'll appreciate you checking out her site!
